Knitwear Care Instructions

For the love of your one-of-a-kind pieces

Each La Manteca piece is handmade with care, time, and intention—please treat it like the little work of art it is. With a bit of TLC, your knitwear will stay beautiful for years to come.

Wash Me Gently

  • Hand wash only in cold or cool water.

  • Use a gentle soap or wool-specific detergent. No bleach, ever (not even a little).

  • Let your knit soak for about 10–15 minutes, then gently squeeze—don’t wring or twist.

Dry Me Slow

  • Lay flat on a towel, roll it up to press out excess water.

  • Reshape if needed, then lay flat to dry. Avoid hangers (they stretch me out!).

  • Keep me away from direct sun or heat—I'm not into tanning or saunas.

Freshen Me Up

  • Air me out between wears—wool naturally resists odor.

  • Spot clean if you spill a little something.

Pilling & Repairs

  • Pills happen—especially in soft, textured yarns. Gently remove with a sweater comb or your fingers.

  • Got a snag or tear? Reach out. I'm always happy to help you mend and extend your knitwear’s life.

A Final Note

These pieces are made to be worn, loved, and lived in. Take care of them, and they’ll take care of you—season after season.
