weekly live yoga

about the practice
melt blends gentle movement, mindful breath, and moments of stillness.
I like to combine many different types of yoga practices including hatha, vinyasa, & yin + combine both static and dynamic movements.
Each 45-minute class includes:
Gentle flow and mobility
Breathwork
Balance and strengthening postures
Special stretches and mobility exercises for knitters, crocheters, artists, and anyone who spends long hours creating with their hands
A few quiet minutes of guided journaling to close the practice
My hope is that you leave class feeling like you just got off the phone with a dear friend.

about the teacher
Hi, I'm Margaux.
I'm a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, trained through Charm City Yoga in Baltimore, Maryland.
I've been practicing yoga for 16 years, which means it's been part of my life for more than half of it. Daaaang.
Yoga has supported me through moves across countries, creative seasons, career changes, and everyday life. It has taught me to trust my body and that truly everything is temporary.
Alongside teaching yoga, I'm also the founder of la manteca studio, where I create handcrafted knitwear and explore creativity through making. Because I spend countless hours knitting myself, I know firsthand how repetitive movements can affect the body. That's why you'll often find mobility work and stretches woven into class specifically for knitters, crocheters, artists, and makers.
My teaching style is gentle, approachable, and focused on helping you feel at home in your meat suit because that's where you live, duh!
why melt?
The body is not an burden, it’s how we interact with the world in the lifetime, so let’s give it a little love.
I started La Manteca Studio to celebrate slow, intentional creativity.
For me, yoga has always been part of that process.
I spend a lot of my days making things and art making has always been a physical practice for me. I make my best work when I am honest with myself about how I am feeling. The body know that waaaay before out minds do, annoying but true.
Yoga has been a way for me to check in and also challenge myself mentally and physically. I’m always looking for proof that I can do hard things and experience ease, yoga doesn’t fail to provide
melt is about building a sustainable practice for people who want to spend time with their meat-suit because they have the sneaking suspicion that it’s trying to tell them something.
Whether you're an artist, knitter, maker, or simply someone looking for a wholesome hang, you're welcome here.
